This is an introduction to some of the great wines the region has to offer, all from our own imports. Producers listed below are regularly reviewed in the international press and all these wines are drinking well now although there is no hurry with any of them. Normally retailing at £107.80, we offer this mixed dozen of red wines (two bottles each) at £99 - save over 8%. Domaine Bressy-Masson, Côtes du Rhône 2009 More Rasteau than Côtes du Rhône: rich and full with deep fruit character from one of the best estates in this leading cru. Domaine de la Charité, Côtes du Rhône 2009 Fabulous red Côtes du Rhône offering excellent purity and deep fruit character. GH: 3/3 stars Domaine de Cristia, Côtes du Rhône 2009 Vieilles Vignes 'Les Garrigues' Ultra-modern Côtes du Rhône: very ripe Grenache fruit and oak-ageing from one of the great estates in modern Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Leave it a couple more years and you'll see what we mean - better than many wines costing twice as much! RP: 86/100 Xavier Vignon, Côtes du Rhône 2007 Consultant Xavier makes big wines that punch well above their weight. GH: Coup de Cœur/3/3 stars We reserve the right to make appropriate substitutions where necessary. |
