Tasting Notes:
Wow! Sun-baked Grenache at its very best. The most obvious thing about this wine at present is its texture. The fruit will undoubtedly follow (it is very much there but needs a couple of years to come forward). Lots going on here.
Drinking Dates:
2010 to 2025
Cépagement:
98% Grenache, 2% Cinsault (vines planted at La Crau in 1902)
Upbringing:
3 week fermentation in cement vats where it remains for another 10 weeks for malolactic fermentation before being transferred to oak casks for 12 months. Bottled unfiltered
ABV:
14%
Critic Reviews:
"A dark ruby/purple colour, a beautifully sweet, dense nose of black raspberry, black cherry, balsam wood and a peppery meatiness that goes on and on. It is broad, deep, with low acidity, ripe tannin and terrific texture and palate penetration." 94/100 (Wine Advocate)

'Thick and dense with an element of stewed fruit about it. Pretty good but lacks a little bit of zip. Lots of pleasure if not too expensive, though I do wonder whether it wasn’t picked just a little bit too late? Grenache with an admixture representing just 10%.' 17.5/20 (Jancis Robinson MW)

You must be aged 18 or over to purchase wine.
