Tasting Notes: The Southern Rhône’s best buys are often the Côtes du Rhône wines from the Châteauneuf estates and this from Alain Jaume is no exception. More a mini-Châteauneuf-du-Pape than Côtes du Rhône, it has lovely sweet black fruit, liqueur and pepper character. Astonishingly good value. | Drinking Dates: 2010 to 2015 | Cépagement: Grenache-based | Critic Reviews: "An amazingly good effort displaying a dark ruby/purple hue as well as a big, sweet bouquet of black raspberries, kirsch, pepper, garrigue and earth. Dense, full-bodied and ripe, it is as good as many producers' Chateauneuf-du-Papes." 91/100 (Parker) |
