Tasting Notes: A very serious Ventoux red, Syrah-rich but otherwise everything you would expect from a high quality wine from the wider region.
All wines from this producer | Drinking Dates: 2022 to 2026 | Cépagement: 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre | Upbringing: Syrah and Mourvedre aged 12 months in barrels. | ABV: 14% | Critic Reviews: "From the up-and-coming Cotes du Ventoux region, which lies east of Chateauneuf and on the southern side of the Ventoux mountain, the 2012 Cotes du Ventoux is a blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre, with both the Syrah and Mourvedre aged in barrel. Possessing outstanding purity and loads of character, with sappy underbrush, spice, garrigue and floral notes balanced by a core of black cherry and black raspberry fruit, it is medium-bodied, beautifully textured and hard to resist. It’s well worth checking out and will drink nicely for 4-5 years." 90/100 ( Wine Advocate) |
