Tasting Notes: The grapes are from the Jaddico estate, five miles north of Brindisi. A hint of wood makes it through the intense, richly fruited palate (cherries and spice). This is southern charm at its best, very rounded with rather more sophistication than most Brindisi the Riserva wines. Velvet tannins and good acidity. The barrels bring out additional spice notes but add no flavour of their own. As with all the Rubino wines, a delightful elegance lifts it and sustains it well: it is never too much. Rather it hits the spot on target. An excellent food wine.
