Tasting Notes: Although from relatively young vines, this Roero is as good as many Barolo and Barbaresco wines that command significantly higher prices. It is elegant yet has very good concentration and the wood is expertly integrated - looking back at old notes, I see Fabrizio changes his wood regime according to the vintage. Subtleties abound in this delicious wine which is already approachable but has a good life ahead.
All wines from this estate | Drinking Dates: 2016 to 2025 | Cépagement: 100% Nebbiolo (vines 15-20 years) | Upbringing: Vinified in stainless steel at 25 degrees for 15 days, followed by malolactic fermentation, also in steel then aged for 18 months in Allier barrels (1/3 each new, second year and third year). Bottled end of December 2013 | ABV: 14.5% | Critic Reviews: "Smooth and juicy. Hints of oaky spices and vanilla complement rich and cherry, tarry tannins and fresh herbal nuances. A serious wine that's still young." 90/100 ( Ian d'Agata, Decanter)
