Tasting Notes:
This wine had a long way to go when I first tasted it but was, even then, undoubtedly one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted (or am likely to) with immense presence.

I was fortunate enough to re-taste the wine in October 2013 at the 2012 en primeur tasting. It is growing into itself very well and could be regarded as ready now if you like the intensity of youth. Others may prefer to wait longer. Either way, a great wine.

Drinking Dates:
2012 to 2040
Cépagement:
60% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, 10% Counoise, 10% Syrah.
ABV:
14%
Critic Reviews:
"The potentially perfect 2004 Beaucastel Chateauneuf-du-Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin has turned out to be an amazing wine and one of the profound examples of this cuvee the Perrins have produced. It certainly has all the power, density and richness of the great years but there is almost a surreal elegance and lightness for a wine this powerful and dense. Almost difficult to describe, the gorgeous multi-layered texture and the heavenly perfume of smoked meats, flowers, blueberries, blackberries, creosote and truffles is a knock-out. In the mouth it is medium to full-bodied with incredible intensity, purity and overall symmetry. There's nothing out of place in this remarkable wine and it seems somewhat approachable already yet it will, no doubt, have the canny ability to age for 25-40+ years." 96-100/100 (Wine Advocate)

You must be aged 18 or over to purchase wine.
