Tasting Notes: I find this to be one the best vintages for Raymond Usseglio I have tasted. The level of concentration of the ripe fruit is superb and there is just a fading whiff of oak to give a nice edge. Superbly balanced and with lovely length. NOTE: the corks tend to be slightly struck - a butler's thief is recommended to remove the corks to avoid them crumbling.
All wines from this estate | Drinking Dates: 2010 to 2022 | Cépagement: 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre | Upbringing: 3 week fermentation in cement vats where it remains for another 10 weeks for malolactic fermentation before being transferred to oak casks for 12 months. Bottled unfiltered | ABV: 14% | Critic Reviews: 'Deep, dark red. Ripe, lively aromas of blackberry, plum and cherry jam accented by licorice and sassafras. Sweet and round, with lush cherry/berry flavors complicated by a garrigue element. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and a repeating note of spicy cherry. Should make an excellent "basic" Chateauneuf bottling.' 91/100 ( Josh Raynolds, vinous.com)
