One of the best wines from Vacqueyras I have tasted with plenty of layers to pad out the lovely, pure cherry fruit. Well-rounded and textured.
2013 to 2020
80% Grenache, 20% Syrah
Stony terraces on clay and sandy soils
Handpicked harvest in 25 kg boxes. Crushing, long fermentation (1 month) in tanks of 50 hectolitres and in Foudres (50%). Blending after malolactic fermentation.
"The opulent, voluptuously textured, rich 2010 Vacqueyras Christins... Revealing lots of Provencal herbs as well as blackberry and black cherry liqueur notes in its full-bodied, intense, luscious personality, this impressive Vacqueyras should drink well for 10-12 years" 90-93/100
"Deep Ruby. Intense, smoke- and spice-accented aromas of black raspberry, anise and lavender. Sappy, penetrating dark berry and bitter cherry flavors gain weight with air without any loss of clarity. A peppery quality comes up on the lengthy finish, which is given shape and grip by fine-grained tannins. This suave, lively wine drinks nicely now but has the balance to age." 90/100 (Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar)
